In this chapter it is giving information about the history of computer games and when it was started and how it developed throughout the years. Also in the chapter it was talking about how the experience in computer games became something cultural in the early century from 1960s to 1980s. Computer games was also an insight of realism which gave players a hands on experience, such as realistic images, action, colours and sound. Computer games became an evolution for visual culture. it also developed digital images of animation for digital cinemas (2D,3D animation).

 

In this chapter it also have another information about people being hackers that were recreating there own programs to develop and improve or not improve games that were already made. They were also a threat to other programs because they would use codes or elements to redesign programs that were already there in games.

I learned about how films used CGI to recreate some of the actors appearance. I also learned about the uncanny valley being used in other catogrise of other films.

CGI and Motion Capture

For this particular part i had to learn and understand of CGI and motion capture, which in my opinion that CGI is connected with motion capture and that it is used for creating 3D models and those models being used for digital films such as apes, lord of the rings, avatars and many more sci fi movies and it is also being used for movement which allows the characters to move in a scene.

Both of these programs have almost the same structure for a different purpose which on maya the nodes are more often used for texturing or adding materials for glass, metal, gold and many more. Where as for nuke its more often used to layer models to videos or can be used for roto scoping assets to another asset, editing, colour correcting which also links to after effects but after effects doesn't use nodes but just layers.
